BRING WITH YOU:
Good (hiking) shoes – if you have them.
Outdoor clothing. The weather is changing all the time. Be prepared.
A camera. This is a tour to remember.
We take you right away to some of the peninsula’s top attractions. We stop at scenic places, which some are only visited by our guests. We take time to enjoy both the view and the fact that no one is there except us.
In a full 7 hours tour this is usually the list of our most appreciated places.
Eldborg. A crater in the lava/volcanoes east of Reykjavik. A moderate hike up to there shows how the magma was shooting up and forming the lava fields around it.
Sveifluháls. A volcanic mountain ridge. Black sands, moonlike lava fields and wonderful places to stop at and admire the view. If you know where to look.
Djúpavatn. A lake midway on the rough track to the south coast of the peninsula. Stunning views.
Grindavik, fishing village. Time for a brief lunch break (meals not included) before we head on to more scenic places.
Gunnuhver, a vigorously boiling mudpit/hot spring.
The South Coast cliffs where the Atlantic waves are breaking
The symbolic bridge between the tectonic plates
Reykjanesviti. An old lighthouse and the nearby geothermal power plant Reykjanesvirkjun.
Seltún. A geothermal area with beautiful colors, boiling hot springs and scent of sulfur in the air.
Grænavatn. An explosion crater with wonderfully green-blue colored lake inside.
Kleifarvatn. A beautiful lake with stunning views.
We may not always be able to stop at all the places. It depends on the weather, the time we have and your wishes for physical activity.
It´s important to take time to enjoy and share the experience with your traveling companions. Take some pictures. We are flexible to make sure you get the most out of the day.
